Here's a few of the projects that have passed through the HH workshop recently!
Rikki James' '54 Barndoor Samba
New work carried out in 2009/2010

- Welded custom exhaust flanges onto CSP stubs and grinded to fit heads
- Fitted CSP python Exhaust system and pushrod tubes
- Modified gearshift mechanism and stick
- Modified engine support bar to clear exhaust system
- Stripped and machined starter motor casing to accomodate motor plate depth
- Removed springplates and fitted new adjustable ones
- Repositioned rear disc brake calipers and made up new extended cables
- Stripped, cleaned and rebuilt carbs with new main jets
- Fitted oil filter block off
- Fitted union block for auxillary oil system hoses with new seals
- modified and fitted rear bump stops

Paul's 1965 Turbo engine Beetle

- Turbo motor is 2007cc 78X90.5 with H-beam rods
- Total seal piston rings
- Lightened 8 doweled flywheel with 1700lb clutch and dual friction disc
- LBC3 cam and lifter kit
- Pauter 1.3 ratio roller tip rockers
- A.J. Simm turbo prep heads with 40x35.5 dual valve springs
- 7.8-1 compression with .050" deck and copper head gasket
- Low Bugget draw through turbo kit using Holley 350cfm carb
- boost control unit
- MSD Blaster coil and leads
- Mallory 685 control box
- Procomp distributor
- Holley red top fuel pump with 3/8" hosing
- 5/8" braided steel oil lines with external filter
- thermostat and large fan assisted cooler mounted under modified rear passenger floor
Estimated power output is between 160 and 220 bhp with similar torque figures, running
5-15psi boost on pump unleaded fuel.

- Wide steel wheels
- Fully painted engine tinware kit
- Stainless steel CSP twin muffler exhaust system

- Now a 1641cc, with 110 cam and twin 40 Dells
