Rikki James' 54 Barndoor Samba
(This work was carried out in 1996)


  • Narrowed front axle with HH adjusters
  • Combination of modified barndoor and beetle torsion leaves
  • Modified late beetle torsion arms with type 1 disc kit
  • Harry Harpics IRS conversion with type 1 trailing arms and modern 4 lug disc kit
  • Porsche 915 five speed gearbox with custom mounts and custom length driveshafts
  • One off clutch system and modified but stock gearshift stick and rod
  • Fitted a 2.6 litre Type 4 engine with twin 48 carbs
  • Modified Exhaust
  • Full flow oil system
  • Porsche fan housing
This bus has been clocked at speeds of 130mph!


Ed’s 1967 11 Window Split Bus



  • Lowered front and rear
  • Harry Harpics IRS conversion with early bay trailing arms
  • type 3 gearbox
  • Fitted a 1914cc Engine with twin webber 44 carbs
  • 1700 Ilbs kennedy clutch
  • Roof cut out and an early Westphalia Turret Style pop top fitted
  • Servo brake system installed
  • Regular Services and MOT’s


Beetle Trike



  • This Trike has a 4 lug beetle rear end from an early 70s 1200 bug
  • It now has a HH 1835cc motor with stock cam, stock carb and twin cannon exhaust.
  • The engine can lift the front wheel at the slightest twist of the bike throttle! Great fun!

  • 1641cc Engine installed with twin webber 40 carbs

Steve’s Award Winning 1969 Karmann Ghia



  • Fitted a 2054cc engine with twin webber 44 carbs

Dave Bridge’s Home Built Beach Buggy



  • 2110cc engine built by Harry Harpics,
  • Best time so far run of 12.5 seconds @ 103mph.

  • Dual circuit servo brake unit
  • Harry Harpics 1776cc engine with twin 40 dellortos, scat c35 cam, 1.25 ratio rockers, balanced bottom end and full flow oil system.


Ed’s 1967 Porsche 912



  • Regular services and MOTs


Terry Marlow's Buggy



  • Harry Harpics 1835cc fully chromed motor, with a 120 cam, berg counterweight crankshaft, full flow oil system, big valve ported heads, twin 40 carb kit with berg linkage
  • Fitted giant aerials with flashing LED lights at the top.
  • Fitted a pair of orange indicator lights, specially postitioned, to illuminate the engine when the lights are on at night!


Alan Parke's 356 Replica



  • A rebuilt 1776cc with counterweight crank etc, with twin solex carb kit
  • Engine had to be rebuilt after an oil pressure fault wrecked a conrod and the bearings!


Green Goblin



  • A purpose built race car with a 2276cc motor which was a joint venture with Stateside Tuning who originally built the engine for Andy Joyners bay van which ran 16s
  • Harry Harpics then rebuilt the motor with different cam, compression etc and put it in the bug
  • Has a best of 13.2 on the strip with still more to come.
